The internal and external finish is actually better than the 1954 vintage original. The only not-so-subtle difference is the current manufacturers name molded onto the outer surface as compared to the original units' manufacturers name stamped into the mounting flange. Otherwise, functionally, this is a beautiful replacement unit. The additional kit parts included in the sale make this the cat's meow. THANKS for the sale
