    Great amp for metal

    The Invective takes the 5150 sound and compliments it with modern features and comforts, and a useable clean channel. I a/b’d the invective with an original 5150 combo and you can definitely hear that classic tone, with just a touch of difference in the way the presence interacts with the tone. The features make this amp a no brainer for the right price, I’m glad I got this on a good deal used. One pro I didn’t anticipate was how well this amp handles bedroom volumes. By playing with the pre gain, post gain and master volume you can get some solid low volume tones, and with the master boost cranked and engaged you can peel the paint off your neighbors garage.     Good Metal amp all the way but can do clean & low gain too.

    Good value if you get a demo or clean used one. DON'T pay full price. You will see prices drop more and more, not because of quality issues but with the lower watt mini amp release being a better option for the bedroom players there is less demand for this brute. Good Metal amp all the way but can do clean & low gain too but more for the pro player. The mini is much better for the Bedroom Rockstar.
