    Great and rare find but incredibly difficult to install

    I have a 105-5500 set up and was looking for the appropriate shifter cover plates to no avail. So I researched other Shimano lines that would fit and found out that the Ultegras of the era did. Exact same design just a different logo. I was happy to find them at the blistering price of $50 (crazy for two pieces of plastic but when something is rare you pay the piper). The real fun came when it was time to install them. Impossible to install unless some modifications are done. Shimano's design staff really blew it on this model. I had to trim a little bit of the interior upper tap of plastic for them to snap on the mounting strap. Then to make sure they didn't pop off, I applied a small dab of silicone adhesive. Youtube was no help. Plenty of videos on how to remove them but the ...
