The rug has been professionally cleaned. No stains, tears, holes, animal or smoke. This special carpet is made of the fine lamb wool and natural vegetable dyes by skilled crafts people from a bygone era of quality. Double tied knots upon two foundation layers for another century of durability. There is antique wear and low pile over the century; buy if ok and wanting authentic one of a kind antique with long term utility, value. Rich spectrum of green from mixtures of natural dyes: pomegranate madder root and vermilion indigo grape lilac hyacinth and centaurea cyanus, brown earths, wheats and tans from larkspur and weld. Natural dyes oxidize over the century giving light and dark shades of each color called 'abrash' by curators, giving lots of tone nuance. See all 19 images.”
