I would provide a Negative review for this seller but they refunded my money and offered free shipping returns which was very helpful. Otherwise, I would highly suggest that all ebay buyers avoid this seller. I purchased an "Open box" fryer that arrived in used condition, covered in old oil and film, that had clearly been used extensively before being boxed up in the original dented box and shipped to me for a "discount". For this reason, my Neutral review is highly Negative.

Cool Features On An Older Camera

This is an older model but it works well. Some of the best aspects of it are the 35x zoom lens, rechargeable battery, ease of changing settings, ergonomic buttons, lens cap that stays on, a vari-angle LCD viewing screen, and the battery/card door that opens and shuts easily. Basically I like the design of this camera. Cons: Need to use a card reader rather than plug directly into computer to upload photos. That's not a big deal. It's a 14.1 MP camera rather than the 16MP that is fairly common now. I did a lot of research before buying this older camera. The consensus in a lot of reviews was that it holds up well vs. some newer models. And I'm not looking for a professional level camera.

  • Still strutting’ it’s stuff

Images are sharp and the zoom with image stabilization is outstanding. Great for nature and family pics. The battery has good life (100 or so shots) so far and the camera bag is worth looking for in a used camera. Did some tough shots: near full moon and backlit squirrel and the camera passed with flying colours. It is a little slow focussing on moving targets, no biggie, and the reds are over saturated sometimes. But still a very nice take anywhere camera.

  • Canon SX30 HS Review Very Good camera.

As a very serious amateur I find this excellent except for one feature...it does not shoot in RAW format, just JPEG. I bought it as a gift for a 12 year old starter in photography is that is OK. Add a polarizing filter for even better images and you too can be happy.. But, also look for a "younger' camera. There are a lot of good brands with later features.

  • Name Says It All

The Canon Powershot SX30 IS packs a lot of power into a compact size. I've used other brands in the fixed-lens stable and the Canon blows them out of the water. I especially like the option of using the LED screen or the viewfinder to compose shots. The viewfinder's very handy when using the telephoto range; without it the "target" of the photo is often hard to find. The zoom ration is very respectable for a camera of this generation. The SX30 has the variety of "scene" settings and special effects you'd expect from a camera of this type. It's easy for a beginner to learn, and deep enough for the more experienced photographer to enjoy as well. The inclusion of a proprietary, rechargable battery (as opposed to AA batteries) is a huge step forward, but a spare is always wise. On the ...

  • Light weight easy to use all purpose camera

For the price point on these cameras they are very good. Image quality does suffer a bit at the full telephoto end and most bridge cameras do. These are small chipped cameras so you really can't compare them to a APS chip camera. For a carry around all purpose camera out on a walk they are great.
