    A True Gem

    This little sewing machine is appropriately named--a true gem. It lives up to the Janome name as a tough and reliable machine that offers basic features for most common sewing needs. It does not have a lot of fancy stitches but enough for the average sewing person. I have been using it for only a few days now, but have put it through enough paces to know that I will continue to enjoy using it, especially because of its small footprint and light weight. I have been repurposing a heavy freezer bag as a carrying case for this machine, and it sews through the layers with a great deal of ease. I have a full-size Janome that I use for really tough jobs, like jeans and drapes, but this will be my go-to machine for everyday use.     Janome Gold 660

    Exactly as described, and exactly what I wanted. It works very well, replacing another old Janome that was almost worn out. I do a lot of sewing on heavy fabrics, and despite it's light weight, this machine does a fantastic job.
