    Highly recommended! Anyone with a Phillips screwdriver and minimal mechanical skills can do this and save lots of money!

    If your ignition lock is starting to stick, don't wait for it to fail completely, which could require disassembly of the whole steering column. This is a super easy repair that you can do yourself in under a half hour. There are DIY videos showing lots of dashboard disassembly steps. In my opinion, that's a lot of unnecessary work. On my 2000 Town and Country, all it took was removing the three screws retaining the lower steering column cover. That allowed me to access the release button on the bottom of the lock assembly. Turn the key to the on position, depress the release button, and the whole lock assembly slides out. Reassembly is just the opposite process. Some people will want to reuse their old key, which entails disassembling the old lock assembly, identifying the tumblers, and ...

    Great Product!

    I bought this from e-Bay at slightly over 1/2 the price of what AutoZone wanted for the same exact item. It arrived on time in perfect condition. The instructions were simple to follow for anyone with even only slight mechanical ability. Now the key slides in and out beautifully. No sticking anymore. No wiggling and hoping to get the key to work. The best part of all is that I was able to change out the tumblers in the new key cylinder with extras that were sent just for that purpose. Now I use the same key so as to not have to have a different key from the doors. Just take your time, follow the simple instructions and enjoy this product!

    Worked well but instructions need to be improved

    What was missing was how to remove the tumbler from the housing. You have to push in both pins on the side of the housing at the same time with your finger nails and rotate the tumbler assembly with key inserted with the help of a second person. You can't see that part of the process in the referenced video. I viewed it elsewhere on YouTube.

    Big savings on pt cruiser ignition switch repair

    Key would not turn , ordered Dorman switch assembly ,lubed and coaxed old unit out and following instructions rekeyed and installed new assembly . Completed with existing transponder key for the price of switch and about 1 hours time,have used Dorman products with success in the past also.
