The first one necessitated getting this one because I neglected removal of the batteries (on my old magnifier over the winter when I wasn't using it and they leaked). This 10X is very useful with the inch and metric scales. The 45X has in addition to the white light which is quite bright, a UV light. Just sayin' this is a great deal. Oh, and the order arrived within a couple of days, who knew?
