The pistol grip screws seemed to have made the 1399 stock more secure, but it might have been that I just didn't tighten the original screws tight enough. The hammer spring does add more tension to cocking the gun. The trigger spring might be lighter, I don't have anything to test. If you plan on getting a steel breech, the rear sight will not fit, so you might save a little money and get a kit without it
