On a 2s the directions recommend against running a 3s battery with the brushless motor that was included but I did it anyway and the car hauls ass without the ESC or the motor getting hot of course I'm running it in the team associated rc10 buggy so it's pretty light and I got a small pinion gear but God dang that thing is fast ridiculously fast.
