      Edsal's Quality went in the Dumpster.

      I have many sets of Muscle Rack throughout my business. I have been buying it for around 15 years and have become accustomed to a certain quality. Not anymore. This new stuff has been cheapened down. First it was the Edsal Muscle Rack that I recently bought at Costco - 2018. I thought maybe it was cheaper because it seems a lot of things they sell at Costco are mass produced and not of the usual standards. Then I bought this shelving on eBay and I have decided that Edsal is no longer the quality it one was. Smaller gauge steel that is totally flimsy. I will not be buying their product again - NOT new anyway. The old stuff I was comfortable putting 200 pounds a shelf on all 5 tiers. This I wouldn't trust with more than 40 or 50 pounds per shelf if using all 5. In a 4.0 earthquake it would ...

      Solid with upgraded boards

      This is a solid shelf frame with the usual flimsy composite boards that really are not compatible with steel shelving. I always replace the composite board with heavier duty products (3/4" plywood, DuraPlate) once that is done then these types of shelves are awesome. That said, the composite board would work for you if you put lots of light stuff on it like boxes. I put heavy items like metal, oil, and parts on my upgraded shelves.
