    Used Lens seems to work well

    This was a used lens purchased to replace similar lens that I had purchased new 4 years ago and which no longer focussed. So far I am satisified with the product..seems to work as well as the older lens. I love the 18-250 zoom which enables me to use single lens for landscapes as well as telephoto for shooting wildlife.

    I carry this lens and shoot in outdoor,covering wide angle and scenic photos. This is one lens I need to travel. Very versatile and easy to carry around. Ratively sharp in between f8 to f16 range. Need to adjust depth of field on wide aperature for sharpness. Good value lens.

    One of the best in its class

    Tough comparing this to the others in its class unless you have them to compare. All get the best images stopped down some, of course. I recently acquired the Tamron 18-270. Would love to try the Sigma 18-250 or the newer Tamron 16-300. Go to Dyxum to get the mass ratings of others. The Tamron 18-270 is rated a little lower on Dyxum. But one thing I have discovered. Match the 18-270 with a "Tamron-F AF Tele-Converter 2x Mx-AF BBar MC7" and it actually does pretty good with a clear image - though you have to focus manually which is tough. However, Match the same teleconverter with the Sony SAL 18-250 and it does horribly for some reason. And I tried the combo many times - same failed results. Otherwise The Sony 18-250 is great for what it is. The Tamron 18-270 would be ...

    Great multi purpose lens.

    It's wide angle enough at 18mm and telephoto enough at 250mm for almost any situation. It's a great all purpose lens that light enough that it doesn't break your shoulder after a couple of hours of use.
