      Disturbing but mandatory

      This is the most shocking and upsetting book I have ever seen. it is a great lesson about the personalities of the people who attended these activities. It took me a whole week to view half of the book. I had to take a break because I hear the use of the word "civil" and wonder how many of their off spring are still carrying on traditions like this. I noticed there were some white people who were victims, to me that makes the level of animal like conduct more apparent. I will take my time to take in a little bit at a time. Seeing this shows me were a lot of the negative things that black people do originated. I hate the contents, I hate the people who did this and taught their kids to be like them, I hate that this was part of the learning my people have had to endure from the people who ...

      Heart breaking!

      As the writing on the cover says, This is a great and terrible book! That covers it pretty well. I feel this book should be in every house! It’s hard to see, and read, but at the same time, it’s hard to put down! And we think we have it hard! Those poor people. Some of this leaves me speechless!

      Amazing story’s and shameful history

      I was able to attend the showing of the photos years ago in NY and purchased a copy of this book. It’s heartbreaking but stories that cannot be forgotten. Still relevant in this time. After searching for my original copy I couldn’t find it and purchased another.

      Without Sanctuary

      After reading this book one will realise that a lynching is much more than someone hanging. This book should be part of public schools curriculum. Its about time we start telling the real story of all the atrocities afflicted on the black race.
