The space between the clamps is way to big for securing my hoya to anything other than a thick bamboo hoop. Even then they don't fit the best. If clipped to anything else they just slide down. I suppose orchid spikes may be a bit thicker and they may work well for that. For this sole reason I am giving them 4 stars instead of 5.
