    "NEW OEM TDP-082W TDP082W Drive Deck with Laser Lens for SCPH-75001 PS2 Slim" The ribbon cable for the spindle motor was shorted across 3 or 4 pins. Disc wouldn't spin, so I couldn't test if the laser was working. The motor for the laser was working fine though. Arrived earlier than expected, but wasn't usable. Won't be returning since I can still use the other parts on it.

    The new PVR-802W laser for my SCPH-75001...

    The new PVR-802W laser for my SCPH-75001 PS2 worked perfectly! Console is now reading both CD and DVD based games. Be sure to remove the solder blob protecting the laser before installation or else it will not work, but other wise it's about as close to a drop in replacement that one can get.

    Works as expected

    Worked fantastic after removing the solder point; the first time I tried, I didn’t remove it completely and it could only read CDs. I recommend using a multimeter to make sure that there is no continuity between the pads of the solder point. Quiet operation is a bonus too!
