      This absolutely fits the 2798 Garman GPS. That cable is very difficult to find and most of the ones on Amazon we’re not compatible even though they claim to be. This is more expensive than those are but it actually works. Don’t waste your time effort anywhere else.Shipping was very quick. If you try to buy it from Garmin it will take you three weeks.Nicely packaged as well.

      Proprietary makes it much, much more expensive

      I am not fond of Garmin's funky way of doing things, Updating maps in the past has been a nightmare that even tech support fumbles with. Now many years later it's (finally) better. As for this cable it's working fine. Somehow these cables disappear from what I assume is due to friends and family "borrowing" them. You can't use cables from the other non Garmin products and certainly not a dollar store cable. Buying some Garmin products means a different cable. Progress or just a money grab? These are not cheap compared to every other USB out there but then that's why it's Garmin. I rarely use any of the three Garmins I have as they seem to go haywire without fail no matter what state I am in. They just don't come through when I need them to. I find I am using my phone with no additional ...

      garmin is proprietary, that means it only uses it's own brand of cables for it's products, (there way of making you buy there cables for there products at what ever price they want to charge you) after trying several other cables i found this out and this cable works just fine with my 2797LMT

      Original Garmin but Not the P/N Listed

      This is an original Garmin Cable but it is not p/n 010-11478-01 MicroUSB Cable as listed. Instead, it is p/n 010-10723-15 Mini USB Cable which does not fit my Garmin units so I had to return it. It's an excellent cable and original Garmin so I do recommend it if it fits your Garmin unit.

      I thought being a dedicated Garmin product it would work with my nuvi 40 ,not so the micro USB is the same as several other micro USB's I have tried that did not fit,. what I need is a very narrow almost square plug that is half as wide as a standard micro USB, price was good shipping was prompt
