Great for breathing new life into an old laptop. Be warned though, not all laptops can make use of it: I have an old Asus Transformer TP500L model that I wanted to bass boost with 16 gigabytes of additional RAM, but it seems like it won't boot. The RAM does work in this Gateway laptop, however. Always check with the manufacturer site to know how much maximum ram the motherboard supports
