    10 minute install, engine starts almost immediately

    easy install, two mounting bolts. all in the open and plenty of room for wrenching. attach starter cable and it's ready to go. I thought my problem was the Auto compression release, but the old starter was faulty. This new starter cranks the engine over super fast now.

    Don't waste your time buying a cheeper 10 tooth starter just to save $20 or $30 bucks. You will have the same problems you started with.

    No cons at all! Starter works great. It completely curd the hot start problems the original starter had. SHAME on Kolher for using a starter that had a known issue and not make good on it. When the engine was under warranty I had the repair man look at it several times. He could not duplicate the problem, so he said,,,, but admitted there was a known problem with the starter. Funny they dropped the tooth count on the started from 10 to 9 teeth. More toque with just that small change. The start problem has plagued me from the day I bought the mower new. A higher amp battery will not fix the problem either. I tried that with no success.

    New OEM part from a valued source.

    Pros: Slid into place and bolted up quite easily. The company that sold this Kohler Starter was the only one that I could find that sold a 9 tooth starter for the Kohler engine I needed it for. It cost about 102.00 which was 60.00 to 80.00 cheaper than most of the shops in the town where I live. Once installed, works perfect with each start. I could notice a great difference between the old one and the new one. Cons: None currently

    Works Perfectly

    I've only had my new mower a few months and the starter went out. After calling around to find the cost of the part and the labor which was costly, It was fantastic to find this part I needed at such a good price and it was really easy to install.

    So far better than the original

    Not started my mower a whole lot yet but, replaced this on a five year old husqvarna built craftsman with a Kohler 7000 series vtwin. My old starter had not quit but, was starting to act up at random times. What few times I have started the mower since I installed new starter have been great. The engine didnt start this fast when it was brand new. I hope it ends up lasting for a good while.
