  • Inside the Mind of the Ultimate Fencer

    Being a fencer myself, having just finished this book, I would consider it as required-reading for anyone who is serious about competitive sports fencing, its history, or some of its greatest masters. Aldo Nadi was, no question, one of fencing's greatest. The book is actually very well written & keeps the reader at "engagement" (excuse the pun). I found it hard to put down. For a fencer, there is quite a lot of benefit to be had in these pages: mindset, training, what it takes to be a good fencer, tradition, sportsmanship, honor, dignity, etc. As for Master Nadi, like him or not, he is quite candid about his lifestyle, beliefs, & observations about many things: fencing juries of the time, Americans, politicians, Hollywood, Hollywood swordplay, his family, women, & other fencers.
