It's a little bit clumsy to use - I think that the people making it could have made the protrusion on the end of the pliers that's meant to pry apart the bits of a split ring so that you can get something threaded on it just a little bit thinner (it would be easier to get it inserted between the rings if it were), to be honest - but otherwise it works basically as advertised. Thanks!
