    Disappointment

    I cannot answer the questions above because I got it as a Christmas gift and have not used it. However, what I had asked for was a machine that I thought could be charged because it had a USB outlet. I bought a new car and it does not have an AC outlet so I can use it with the enclosed cord. So I had to get an adapter that had an AC outlet with an end on it that I could use in the - what I describe as the cigarette lighter plug. I was disappointed that the machine could not be charged and not use the batteries. I travel and want to play my CDs and my audio books. But because this machine cannot be charge as I thought it could, I had to buy additional technology. I think it should be very clear in the description that it cannot be charged. I have yet to play the machine in my car.

    Hamilton Buhl CD Player

    Had it only a short time. It appears a lot more durable than the Boom Box we was using. Would like a bigger speaker. I made one with an amplifier. Performs as I expected. Price was right, and size is smaller. Exactly what I expected. Arrived early.

    This portable is excellent.

    I have purchased other portable cd players and they were quite deficient in their ability to play home recorded cd's, and were touchy in many aspects. This one is excellent! It is ruggged, still portable, plays everything I have thrown at it so far, (I haven't used the usb port yet though). I woul drecommend this one to anyone. It has anb on/off switch, but once the cd ends, the whole machine turns off after a certain amount of time. I use it to play cd's for sleep at night.
