Does actually take watercolour paint well for a non-cotton paper, unlike some other similar journals which claim to do so. Simple black hardback and waterproof cover; pages are sewn and securely bound, and lay flat without damaging spine. These are my initial observations, but all the reviews I've read for this journal (and Seawhite generally) have been positive
