    Diamax Advanced Treatment by Nioxin is an innovative leave-on treatment used to increase the thickness of each existing hair strand for a fuller-looking head of hair. Diamax Advanced can penetrate the hair and make it manageable and full, and can also protect hair against breakage, which can allow it to grow longer. In 1987 Nioxin Research Laboratories was founded by Eva Graham, and the first products arrived in salons as “The Science of Living Hair.” In its beginnings, Nioxin was known as a hair care treatment brand of products to help men with the thinning and loss of hair on their scalp. As Nioxin has grown as a brand, it has included many hair restorative regimens that include intensive treatments such as the Diamax Advanced Treatment. Nioxin Diamax Advanced comes in a 3.4 ounce bottle with a pump nozzle to dispense the treatment product. An included accessory is a plastic guard that comes with the product to prevent the nozzle from leaking during travel. With the recommended daily use, the Nioxin Diamax Advanced could last from 4-6 weeks. The key ingredient in the Nioxin Diamax Advanced is HTX, a proprietary blend of niacinamide (a form of vitamin B3), panthenol (a form of vitamin B5, also referred to as pantothenic acid), and caffeine (known for stimulating the scalp to encourage hair growth). These hair care products combined form a powerful ingredient that can be effective at achieving results on thin hair. Other ingredients include peppermint oil and menthol, and both can leave a refreshing feeling on the scalp and hair. Nioxin Diamax Advanced should be applied generously throughout the scalp on wet hair after using shampoo and conditioner or on dry hair. Massage the Diamax Advanced Treatment gently to the hair roots, and do not rinse off. For exceptional results while using Diamax Advanced Treatment, you can use it daily on wet hair immediately after shampooing. This product can also be applied to dry hair, especially if you don’t shampoo your hair every day. With daily use, the Diamax Advanced Treatment can be great at protecting existing hair roots and ends against damage and breakage. While using this treatment product, hair can become longer and stronger. The Diamax Advanced Treatment can provide up to 8 hours of visible fullness even in high heat and humidity.       Great way to get healthier fuller looking hair

      I have never loved the smell of this product, it’s a bit of a menthol smell. But I can’t argue with the results. I had damaged my hair by bleaching and coloring it, and it had thinned so bad I looked like I was balding. After a few months it looked as healthy and almost as full as it did before the damage. Been using it for almost two years now and my hair looks and feels great!

      Not what I was hoping for

      When I purchased this product, I thought it would make my hair appear fuller, thicker; it did not. It only made my hair dryer, which for me with senior thinning, fine hair was not good at all. After using the other Nioxin products, i.e. scalp treatment and shampoo, with fairly good results, I was not happy with their thickening treatment.

      As good as pricey "gold" top verison

      This product is offered in two forms, Nioxin Diamax with silver top and Niioxin Diamox Advanced with gold top, which is much pricier. The silver top product works just as well as the pricier gold top - why pay more?

      Volume and texture

      It's been almost a month and I am seeing a difference, to my surprise. I am also using Nioxin formula 4. My hair loss has stopped and this product makes the remaining hair fuller and thicker. I recommend it.

      Works as intended

      I've purchased and used other Nioxin products and generally speaking they do a good job and are a good value. These are not miracle products...my salon has found the NIOXIN line of hair and scalp treatments to be the only products that work and are reasonably priced. We are individuals and one shoe doesn't fit everyone, but these products are worth an honest try. Go for it and you see and decide for yourself.
