    Chevy parts on a Ford.

    My collector car friends will be horrified to see a GM style distributor in a classic mustang. But hey... When you want it to run you need good parts. This distubutor simplifies wiring with only one wire and no external coil. Car runs great now.

    Do Not Buy the slotted removable Gear/Pump drive can fall into Motor during installation

    This distributor uses a slotted removable distributor gear with oil pump drive which can easily fall off into the motor during installation or removal. I used a piece of tape to hold it in place during installation, but removal may be a nightmare. My previous Ford HEI distributor had a fixed grear/pump drive which was no problem I would specify this type, stay away from the slotted removable gear old pump drive distributor.

    Wrong color cap. That’s important to a Ford guy.

    My blue cap HEI came with a red cap. I was unable to use it on the intended car because of the color. I will use it on something but not what I intended.
