Squire necks are on par with standard Fenders a lot of the time, and they can be made on par with the high end Fenders with a little work. The necks I bought from Twangulator are some of the nicer Squires I've seen. If you don't mind doing some work (crafting), then buying a low end Squire and turning it into a high end Fender (albeit with maybe a few more tooling scars) is the way to go. To borrow from one of the great SciFi philosophers ... I'll be back.
