After a thorough cleaning (you should always disinfect surplus canteens, you never know what a soldier used it for!) the water came out clear as a spring and tasted fresh. The pouch it comes in is excellent quality and every part of the kit has excellent functionality. The Soviets really thought of everything back then, huh?
