    Great Speed handles Adobe 2018 CC 3D rendering, smoothly. Great video ram excellent replacement for my 2008 Macbook Pro. Battery life is great, can use my 21 inch apple cinema with the mini display connect. Great feature the 3/4 card slot.

    get a newer model with faster thunderbolt 3 no video problems

    I recommend getting a MacBook pro if you are a composer / musician using DAWs and pluggins etc However I don't recommend the 2011 17inch version for one BIG reason This Macbook pro had video card issues where by the time I took it to an service center I had the cost of $1200.00 invested in it beyond the price I paid for it It was my fault trying to save a little money and should have went the NEW route when it comes to Apple products. It has a design problem with the video system which if not fixed renders the laptop useless. I took it to one of the best rated Mac service centers in the country and even then they had to completely replace the logic board. When they cringed at the mention of the video defect I was concerned.Save your nerves and money and get something more current. Maybe ...

    WONDERFUL MACHINE, IF....

    ....one can adjust to small text. Yes, text can be enlarged, but the default (visual) size is about half of what's in the 15.4 inch MacBook Pro model I own. Maybe I'm missing something, but seem to remember a similar set of comments from other users of the machine that should never have been discontinued..... especially if the software were to have been rewritten regarding visual text size. The real irony here is, I bought the 17 inch MacBook Pro due to failing eyesight.

    These Apple laptops are great machines. They’re all but bulletproof! Also easily upgradable. There’s not a PC made that can match these Macs!

    The Apple OS was made to handle graphics and other large files in a manner that the Windows OS simply cannot match. The MacBook Pro build quality is top shelf too. The best way to grade this is an historic look at the number of these machines in use by graphics studios and career professionals who choose their equipment on the basis of results. Apple’s MacBook Pro just can’t be beat!

    Mac Pro 17 is still a Good buy!
