Valve box found in less than 5 minutes covered over with 3" of sod. Thank You! Not exactly cheap for what it is, and single use, but "fair" considering the high cost of the alternatives.

I found 7 out of 8 sprinkler valves in about 30 minutes with this device. The last missing valve couldn’t be found because the valve or solenoid needs replacing. If your valve is not working, you’ll need a wire tracer. I pump out of my own water source so, disconnecting the P/MV (Pump, Main Valve) wire was a must to keep the pump from running and only powering the solenoids. I did use a 5 foot 2 inch piece of PVC pipe I had to put up to my ear to search around with per the tip section. Definitely start with a known valve - if you have one - to know the sound you're searching for.

The only issue was that both ends came with alligator clips, even though I asked for one end to be stripped during customization. Otherwise, it was exactly as described, and helped me find the buried valves I was looking for around my yard.
