I got extravagant and bought pvc 1/2" tees and 1/2" slip x 3/8" threaded and mounted on my pens wall with a garden hose feeding them. I highly recommend these. The price is awesome also. Paid way too much for them on way fair and still haven't received my pkg.

That tube is long enough to accommodate a quarter inch rubber washer and a metric nut and we applied silicone to the outside. I'm thinking the cups could be screwed through a smaller hole if drilled to fit rather than retrofitting. I bought enough to try that next year. The chickens took to the cups readily as opposed to the nipples.

It arrived one day later than eBay estimated and a day after the shipper predicted.
