    Seachem Purigen is a filter additive for fish tanks and aquariums. It is a synthetic absorbent additive that is made of polymer. Purigen is suitable for both freshwater and saltwater aquariums, and you can simply add it to the aquarium when changing water. It neutralizes ammonia, nitrates, and nitrites for a cleaner tank. Purigen also provides a slime coating for your fish and detoxifies your tap water of impurities. This 100ml size will treat up to 100 gallons of water.

      Seems to keep nitrates down longer.

      I use this in my 75 gallon Discus tank with very good results. Some goes in canister filter and one goes in a small 10 gallon type submersible filter for easy exchanges. Nitrate level stays down longer.

      YOU NEED THIS!!!

      If you're running a tank and you have any type of HOB (Hang On Back) or Canister type of power filter, then you should have this somewhere in that system! Period! Point! Blank! This stuff flat out works! And the fact that you can just recharge/replenish it yourself with a little bleach (instructions explain how to do it and it's quick and easy) then use it again and again, it's perfect! I have 1 for every tank in my home except for 1 and that's my fry tank that only runs a sponge filter.

      Awesomeness!

      This is the best hands down filter additive I have ever used. Within two days my aquarium is crystal clear. Fish seam more active and colors are better. Plants are looking healthier and I am very pleased with my results and it is renewable so conceivably just a one time purchase. Love it.
