  • For fingerstyle-bass playing with a Fender Bass VI, YOU NEED THESE STRINGS!

If you're a guitar player who uses a pick, don't worry, the stock strings will be fine. If you play with a pick these strings might take a while to adapt to, but it's not a real issue. If you're planning on playing finger-style bass (like Jack Bruce did when recording "I Feel Free") then these strings are a must-have. You will get more accurate intonation (even more so than with the stock strings) and flats are the way these were strung up in the 60s before some guitar player insisted round-wounds would be better. You should get a spare nut because you will need to file the old nut on the bass side to fit the higher-gauge strings, but your local luthier could recommend what's best for you. I play both guitar and bass and do fingerstyle as well as pick, and I can tell you these strings ...

  • Great String for Deep Bass

I bought these on a recommendation from a guy on a Fender blog as the best you could get for a 6 string bass. . I have a Fender Squire 6 string Bass and love the Fender Precision "bonk" sound. These strings proved for me to be a bit too deep, dark and thick in diameter. They are better suited for a Jazz player. I will be going to a brighter string to get my "bonk" back. The original stock Fender strings were too bright and tinny, sounding, that is why I chose these. My next set to try are D'Adario XL 84s. Much less expensive than these top of the line LaBella $50 strings.

  • Excessively light gauge strings

Bought these for a Fender jazz five string. No good. Would need a new nut and a lot of tampering with the truss rod to make these useable. Broke the D trying to tune it so it wouldn't lay on the pickups. Also very short scale. Had the wrap hanging between the nut and first fret on every string. Unless you're set up for these exceptionally light strings don't bother.

  • Good strings

I not only thing these are great strings, but the best possible strings to put on a Bass VI. Anyone that says differently never had to write a review with a minimum word count even though more words would be redundant.

  • Worth the money. Save up and get some.

I've been struggling with the intonation on my Squier vi since I bought it (even with a Staytrem bridge), these strings are a game changer. It's like a new instrument, and now it's everything I wanted it to be in the 1st place. The strings also sound absolutely amazing. Tried stock strings and D'Addario replacements, these are infinitely better.
