      Accuracy questionable

      The idea is good but it does not give accurate results. I am an RN who checks her husband's and my own blood pressure each day. After using the E-Sphyg, I wait 3-5 minutes and check it with the old fashioned analog blood pressure cuff. My blood pressure reads 10 - 15 points lower (systolic) with the E-Sphyg. My husband's pressure reads 5-10 points lower (systolic) with the E-Sphyg. Also, it is difficult to adjust the rate of deflation slowly enough to catch the digital number when you hear the first and last sound through your stethoscope. Many times, the gauge just skips 3-5 numbers. The one good thing is that it is easy to inflate the cuff and doesn't require as much pumping as my older analog cuff. However, I cannot depend on the readings that the E-Sphyg gives so I don't use it. Such ...
