Received as described. The cap on the tube was loose, and the inner bubble bag was filled with blue goo. After I cleaned up the mess, there was still enough cold blue to meet my needs for a long time.

Used this so far to blue a 1948 bolt action 16 guage and a 1873 pocket revolver. Works good, gives a even and dark blue. Pretty easy to use.

It works just ok, a little lite.

Works ok, Its only for light touch up . It really doesn't match the original Bluing. This product has been around for many years and I do believe they make a stronger version for complete re-bluing.

  • Don't rush it!

Take your time, have the gun fairly warm, surgically clean and allow it to work for a few minutes. Best applicator is a 2" square of Scotch brand green scouring pad. You will end up with a deep dark blue-black that will surprise you. I just ordered 2 more bottles.

  • Thanks. All was well with the sale. It was the wrong product for what I was doing but that is on me. I have an old shotgun barrel that was taken down

Thanks. All was well with the sale. It was the wrong product for what I was doing but that is on me. I have an old shotgun barrel that was taken down to bare metal. I wanted to re-blue it dark blue. This was the wrong product for the job. It will be good to keep around for touch ups on my other C. W. reenactment muskets.

  • Good but requires many coats to match.

Worked for me. Very close to a blue match. If you want a 100% match - it will require many layers of the product. The key is to let it dry so it may take days or a week before color bends correctly. I used a heat gun and that did help speed up the process.

  • Good quick fix

very happy with results, I wanted the simplest and cheapest way to get the task done. It worked so good after I did the barrel of an old six shooter I did my old rifle. Two screws and the stock was removed, then both sites. I was able to leave the trigger and safety in place.
