If you need a cheap yet efficient and reliable rack mount server, then the Dell CS24-SC server offers an exceptional pick. It is a 1U two way server designed for clustered and cloud computing. This server features two quad core Intel processors that can ensure optimal performance. It comes with four 2.0 USB ports and a VGA port that allows you to make multiple connections easily. Originally designed for Facebook, the Dell CS24-SC Server is offered with a custom build option that allows you to upgrade the storage space to 16TB. Its operating system varies, but you can use it with a Windows based operating system. It is necessary to install compatible drivers to ensure the server runs efficiently.In addition to the onboard VGA port, there is a PCIx slot on the riser, so an add on video card can be installed. Two of the four USB 2.0 ports are located on the front of the server, which can allow for easy access. The server also has a serial and two legacy PS/2 ports, which allow you to connect to the previous generation of older keyboards and mice. The main network port is a 1000 Mbit interface, and the unit also comes standard with a 100 Mbit port for server management.The unit comes with 16GB of RAM installed, which can be upgraded to as much as 48GB. This server also comes with a 750GB HDD, which is upgradable as well with matched data pairs. There is a total of four 3.5-inch bays for storage devices, allowing for a total of 16TB of drive space. The hardware is compatible with SATA drives, offering both ATA and AHCI. There are two CPU slots, compatible with Intel Xeon processors from 5000 up to the 5400 series. The machine is built around the Intel 5100 chipset. The server offers RAID (redundant array of independent discs) levels 0 or 1. This selection will allow you to decide how many levels of backup information you want to use to store your data. The hardware is compatible with the Microsoft Windows Server family as well as other operating systems, including several LINUX distros.The Dell CS24-SC server is built to fill a variety of data storage and processing roles.
