      Dim enough, and brilliantly bright with a double press of the button. Single AA battery power.

      This light is incredibly durable, thanks to water resistant aluminum construction and very easy to learn to use unlike others.It gets dim enough, bright enough at a double click, can't count how many times I've been walking through the woods and been spooked the @#$% out of when I see retinas of animals staring back from 50 yards. Only drawback is no red only light. I'd recommend carrying a spare AA battery just in case, especially if you choose to use Energizer NiMH batteries. It only uses one battery at a time so that's just natural. With other rechargeable brands it gives pretty good warning the battery is dying though if you're paying attention. Don't lose this light once you get it. You'll cry. I sure did.

      No frills sturdy light

      If you are looking for a bright light look elsewhere however very well built comes with extra rubber holder , no difference noted between AA 1.5 battery and 14500 3.7 battery as far as light output.
