      Good “Powered" Trailer Lighting Converter

      Clear instructions and worked perfectly once installed. I will note though that it was purchased to replace an old powered converter, so the 12 volt power and ground wires were already at the rear behind the left taillight. If you are installing such a unit from scratch you need to run power from the battery distribution box, back to the rear of the vehicle. This unit acts like a relay for tail, brake and turn signals, to power the trailer totally independently of the cars lighting system. It just senses the presence of power for each of these and then based on that signal, it sends power to the appropriate lamps on the trailer. It is the best way of providing trailer lighting signals, independent of the vehicle system.

      wiring wrong

      yellow and green wires were reversed for signal lights found that out after it was all installed!
