        Winner product

        The Sony BDP-BX59 is the sweet spot of inexpensive DVD/Blu-Ray players. It is new enough that it has built in wifi connectivity, making installation easy. But it is old enough to still have RCA outputs for people who have serious stereos (Sony's newer DVD players are HDMI only). I used to use this player to listen to mp3 CDs and CDs. But in the last decade I have used these players to stream music off my local computer 98% of the time and watched pre-recorded DVDs of classic TV shows 2% of the time. I have never used it to play a Blu-Ray disk because I have never owned one. The BDP-BX59 is identical to the BDP-S590 except one got packaged with an HDMI cable. Sony gave it a different model number and a little bit higher price because of a trivial cable.

        Slim design with large app selections

        Product was better than expected. Very slim design and very simple to setup. Purchased this for my RV to have more choices of channels when camping but it performs better than my home unit. Netflix is my main selection from the many apps it has and connection to WiFi was twice faster than the one I use every day. Remanufactured products seem to shy some from buying, but at least I know that these were actually looked at and tested by a human before getting sent out unlike the conveyor new one where only 1 out of 20 or so are tested. Good packaging with hdmi cable included, plug one end into player and one into tv, plug power cable to socket, that’s it, your done. Very good quality and very good features, will be buying another for my bedroom.

        Better than some newer models

        I found the features inherent in the BX59 work smoother than the same in newer models. This shows a fundamentally stronger foundation to work from. davet

        great DVD player

        had a storm come thru last night which was part of hurricane Mathew. We could not get reception from our dish so we watched Netflix and DVD's until about midnight. It was some what over whelming at first to set up but after I settled down it was not really that hard. I was not use to such a outstanding DVD player. We even surfed the internet for a while just to be amazed. Thank You! for such a great product. From Steve nd Jean

        Love it!

        I had been struggling with my Roku to stream movies and tv, but it wouldn't stay connected to the wi-fi. Much frustation! Don't need it now, this Sony blu-ray player does everything the Roku does but actually works! Everything works with ease and quietly. I'm very pleased and would buy again and again.
