      Good battery, difficult installation

      I installed this battery myself, following a youtube video. It's the first time I've done something like this, so it would likely be easier for a professional. I had a hard time separating the old battery from the metal plate in the phone, and destroyed the old battery in the process, so I'm glad the new one works well. I also had difficulty with the power connection to the battery, and had to open the phone again after my first try, to fix the connection. When all was said and done, my phone works again and the battery lasts a day with my normal use. I'm satisfied. If I have to replace the battery again, I might choose one of the ones that is available with the metal plate already attached.

      Should I spend my time replacing what looks to be recovered battery from an used phone?

      Battery code date is from 2015. Asus logo is covered with a tape. Battery comes glued to the mounting bracket, as normally found in the phones. For the price can't complain but listing states New and not used. As far as batteries go there is no reconditioning possible. If they start having issues at low state of charge then you have an issue. I don't want to invest my time on a complex exchange procedure to find out the new battery is just as questionable and old as the one in the phone now. Oh well I good tools for doing work on the computer/phone in the future.

      OK product

      This battery, even though has the brand on it, is a little bit larger than the "original" one, meaning the one in the phone since the production. After having completely discharged it, as suggested from the notice and precaution, the battery has been fully charged. After three times the full discharge/charge cycle, the battery was expected to last at least 24 hrs. Unfortunately it does not and as soon as it gets to 10%, the phone dies and no matter what you do, the battery needs to be put under charge. This will bring the battery to not lasting that long. Overall it is a good product

      Pay for what you get.

      The battery fits the phone, it wasn't super hard to install, plenty of videos on YouTube. It has a slightly smaller capacity than the original battery. And the phone no longer fast charges.

      Capacity reads incorrectly

      Overall, the battery was a good value for replacing the battery myself in my ZenFone2. The main issue is that the battery capacity is read as only 1500-2000 mAh when it is supposed to be 3000 mAh. It could just be the apps used to measure the battery as overall the phone seems to last as long as my original battery did, but then again.. that battery was faulty from the start and had to be replaced (with this one) when it started to expand and smoke.
