    It's Exactly 4x4

    I love everything about the cap lights except one thing. They are made for 4x4 post but the post that the vast majority would want to put this cap on is a finished that is 3.5x3.5. The light is pretty and it works well but it's a little too large.

    Grossly misadvertised item.

    Listing includes this statement: "The opening on the bottom of this fence post cap light, which fits over the top of your post, is exactly 3 7/8" x 3 7/8". So, your post must be 3 7/8" x 3 7/8" or smaller. Designed for 4x4 wood posts." The actual exact measurement is 3 13/16 x 3 13/16, not 3 7/8 (3 14/16). The listing includes this statement: "Tip: Wood posts tend to shrink over time. If this light is not a snug fit over your post, wrap a little tape around the top of your post. Or put a small bead of caulk in the gap." What they fail to tell you is the nominal size (In the US) of a 4 x 4 post is 3.5" by 3.5". This means the product STARTS OUT 5/16" oversize, BEFORE any post shrinkage. THAT is a LOT of caulk or tape. It makes secure mounting difficult (impossible with the SMALL ...

    A very classy way to light up an entry gate or deck!

    These are perfect for our entry gate since the gate is too far from house to run power so this was an awesome find! We then painted a black solar house number sign to match the pair! The color is complimentary to our country surroundings! Very pleased!

    High wind hazzard

    Very satisfied with the operation of the lights. One problem we see is in a high wind, the top will blow off the base. The top does not have a positive "click" when you put them together. These have a Lithium Ion battery in them so they last for a couple of days, like if you have a cloudy day. They are not bright enough for to light up a path or walkway and are for looks and effects. Very good looking lights. See pic below to see what they look like at night.

    Well made

    Very happy with this device however the top separates if you put your hand on it. That is where the control switch and batteries go to replace them. It could use a little more secure contact at the separating point. The actual size of the 4x4 is really less and would be nice if it was made to that actual size...... Otherwise works quite well and looks good.
