It looks like the real deal as far as lambskin/wool. I got an XL and it is a tiny bit big, but not a problem. That would only be noticeable in a howling wind when I would want to have the ears down anyway. For reference, I have short hair, wear XL crash helmets, and my noggin is 23.5 inches in circumference. This is a great deal for a unique and highly functional hat.
