    Marvellous low-light portrait film.

    I've been a fan of Portra 160 and 400, in it's NC and VC versions, for years but I've never had the need for the extra speed until now. I am shooting more and more portraits indoor without flash than ever lately though, so I decided to give this film a go. The extra stop (over 400) may not sound much but it really can make a vital difference. The most important thing though, and where Portra excels, is in the skin tones. All the lovely Portra subtlety shown by the slower films is very much here - maybe even more so at certain enlargements as the grain softens a print. Excellent stuff.
