About this product

Product Information

Grammy-winning guitarist George Benson chose Ibanez to custom build this electric guitar to his demanding specifications. The Ibanez George Benson brown and ebony GB10 Electric Guitar is a favorite among musicians for playing all kinds of musical styles. The heavy natural spruce top and elegant maple body create a clear, deep sound that has superb tonality. The custom-made set of floating, custom-wound GB humbucking pickups produces the sound that Ibanez guitars are known for. This hollow-body guitar not only sounds great, but it is also a beautiful instrument with high-quality decorative touches made from mother-of-pearl and abalone. Gold and silver hardware lend a polished touch to enhance the neck, body, and signature trapeze tailpiece, making this a great guitar to take with you onstage. George Benson was fully involved in the design of these electric guitars. It became his favorite means to show off his expert guitar playing, and you’re bound to love it too for playing pop, rhythm and blues, or soul and gypsy jazz. Their tension-adjustable tailpieces allow you to fully adjust these musical instruments to your own preferences. A die-cast bridge gives you separate adjustments of tension on the treble and bass strings. This guitar features a brass nut and a compact body to produce the warm tones that suit a variety of musical styles well. The two pearlized tuning knobs are corrosion resistant in order to hold up to frequent playing and handling. A 2 x Volume, 2 x Tone, 3-way Pickup Toggle gives excellent adjustability so that you can get the sound just right for the musical genre you are playing. It has one strap button behind the tailpiece. You can tie the strap to the neck or put on another pin if you prefer. The binding that surrounds this model's body, fretboard, headstock, and F-holes was chosen to last. The frets are smooth and glossy. The GB10 custom humbucking pickups provide that vintage, naturally woody sound so loved by Benson fans. The electric features add more diversity to the music with this Ibanez hollow-body guitar. When played semi-acoustically, it projects sound very well. These natural-finish guitars also sound great when they're plugged into an amp.Go up to the bridge humbucker, and you will discover that it is entirely capable of playing many more genres of music besides traditional jazz. Featuring an archtop style with a wide body and preamp, this guitar has six switching outlets with two for the neck, center, and bridge to bolster rhythms. The extra thick spruce top improves sound clarity while minimizing feedback. Its ebony fretboard has 22 medium frets that make for easier note bending. You’re sure to appreciate this smooth-playing guitar. It’s easy and comfortable to play and suitable for all experience levels from guitar students to working musicians. This Ibanez GB10 electric guitar is a beautiful work of art that bears legendary jazz guitarist George Benson’s signature. Benson’s insight into what makes a guitar great and Ibanez’s reputation for excellent craftsmanship help you deliver amazing jazz melodies.

  • Decent Deal

This guitar needs about $275.00 in repairs plus new strings. However overall, it was still a very good deal, according to my guitar repair man.

  • One of the best guitars I've played. Excellent quality. It plays and sounds great! Perfect for jazz.

I have owned a Gibson ES-175. Also a nice guitar with a beautiful sound but the GB 10 to me has a faster/smoother neck. Both are great guitars.
