The book gets points for tackling the recurrent tension between environmentalism and science, but it succeeds first and foremost as a good old-fashioned adventure tale.

    Synopsis
Stephen Hawking, author of the multi-million copy bestselling "A Brief History of Time," and his daughter Lucy explain the universe to readers of all ages. George's parents, who have always been wary of technology, warn him about their new neighbors: Eric is a scientist and his daughter, Annie, seems to be following in his footsteps. But when George befriends them and Cosmos, their super-computer, he finds himself on a wildly fun adventure, while learning about physics, time, and the universe. With Cosmos's help, he can travel to other planets and a black hole. But what would happen if the wrong people got their hands on Cosmos? George, Annie, and Eric aren't about to find out, and what ensues is a funny adventure that clearly explains the mysteries of science. Garry Parsons' energetic illustrations add humor and interest, and his scientific drawings add clarity; there are also eight 4-page full-color inserts of scientific photos., Stephen Hawking, author of the multi-million copy bestselling "A Brief History of Time," and his daughter, Lucy, explain the universe to readers of all ages. Item is as described. Poor communication from the seller regarding extremely slow shipping - had to contact eBay to get his attention to actually ship the item. With that being said, the seller provided a full refund for the item and still promptly sent the item. I believe shipping issue was probably an oversight because of the holidays and the seller did his best to make things right. I would not hesitate to buy from this seller again.

You will not find a more crude, pathetic seller on eBay than Turn the Page. He bails out of poor service with refunds, then salvages positive feedback. Big deal. I sent 4 messages over two weeks, asking if his book was ex-library as was in his description. He finally spit out a snotty reply. Dumb me, I bought the book anyway and waited 3 weeks. I got no book, no explanation, just a refund. He probably never mailed it out of spite. READ his feedback and you'll see how he treats everyone.

You received a refund. That was the point. You were never going to be satisfied so I just saved further hassle for everyone.

Seller accepted two best offers, and then let the two books sit for two weeks, unnoticed. Only acted after I sent two messages asking for an update. Seller shipped one book and then refunded it. Then, refused to ship the 2nd book, but issued a refund. I could not recommend this seller as they had no sense of humor, and were rather dull in their correspondence--oh, and the huge delay, too. All around disappointing.

Let me introduce you to the most petulant child we have been unfortunate enough to encounter over our long time selling on ebay. We made an error on the orders. Noted. As soon as we were notified we immediately shipped the first book and refunded the purchase. Because of the continuous ridiculous messages I also refunded the 2nd book and blocked them to make it just go way, Stear clear of this one at all cost.

It is a great way to get kids interested in science. It incorporates a lot of facts about the universe.

The story was well written and managed to include the scientific facts as a part of the story. I see it as a good educational tool.
