    Vtech Baby Monitor - Model DM1111

    This baby monitor works OK with adequate range for a normal house. When the power goes off and comes back on, it makes a lot of noise on both ends while it is pairing with the baby monitor, talking and such, at a rather loud volume, sufficient to wake up the average person and baby. The volume is sufficient to hear a noise within probably 3 feet of the monitor when it is operating normally. Not sure why the parent module needs batteries, since the baby monitor portion does not have an option for batteries as far as I can tell. Both modules will operate on the AC power supply provided, so that is a good thing. Overall, I would rate it as sufficient, but not superior. The price was reasonable.

    Forced to be creative

    This monitor is easy to use and tough. I use it in my chicken coop at night, having a predator problem at the moment, the audio is great, and I go to sleep to the crickets and frogs....chickens sleep and stay very quiet after dark unless a predator trys to get in , their excitement wakes me and gives me a chance to step out on the porch and eliminate the problem. 👍I recommend this monitor.

    Works great for the most part!

    I like this unit as it gives me the range to go outside and still hear what is going on inside. This is for my elderly Mother. The reliable question I said no to, only because I find that the batteries don't last long in it. I saw this as a downside on other reviews as well. But, I will try and use Lithium batteries in it to see if they last longer. So far, I can only be outside for around an hour, if that, before I loose the signal. We have an RV in the back yard, and I have been plugging into the power from there and setting it outside. That works as long as I don't go to far away to hear it. Overall, I like it. Our others are shorter distance but they have been great to have.

    Good for concrete walls

    I moved to a condo that is all concrete and me previous monitor could not keep a signal. This monitor works through all the walls of my condo, so I am very happy. It uses up batteries very quickly though.

    Okay if you dont plan on moving around the hpuse

    It works fine when plugged into the wall adapter. If you want to use it while walking around the house, forget it. I tried a variety of brand new batteries, no luck.
