      Major design flaw.

      This battery charger is OK for any battery size except D. The spring-loaded posts of this charger are cheap metal and will break very easily. You have to push so hard to get D batteries in the slots that it is easy to break the posts. There is literally no extra room as D batteries will take up all the room in a slot. This is a very flawed design. The Ansmann chargers have much better quality spring-loaded posts as they are much thicker metal and they have more room in the slots that make putting in D batteries much better. And the Ansmann chargers are not that much more money than the Viateks, but the quality of the Ansmann is definitely worth the extra money. When you break the metal post of a Viatek trying to insert a D battery, you will kick yourself for not listening to me. ...

      Fantastic item! It is worth every penny!

      Every household should have one of these. I haven't bought any new batteries in years! With so many remotes in use today this item is indispensable. The amount of batteries used for electronic appliances around a household today is ridiculous- and if you add for games/toys, flashlights, etc... the need for a battery charger is obvious. Why continue to buy new packs of batteries every time you run out when you can simply re-charge the same batteries again and again up to 70 times each before eventual disposal. Think of the savings each year and simultaneous contribution to the environment with fewer batteries being tossed at the same time! So come on America, re-charging batteries is the future!
