    STEAM LOCOMOTIVE VISUAL AID MODEL

    The Eisco Steam Engine is a magnificent model to understand how the timing of the admission valve and the main piston work together to produce the replicating motion necessary to move a locomotive forward (or in reverse). This is a tricky process to envision without the help of a visual aid, and is the reason I bought the model. My ONLY wish was that the model also used a combination lever between the valve stem crosshead and the main piston crosshead, which was ALWAYS present and in use on a railroad steam locomotive. I cannot say if it was also used on stationary steam engines, and to be fair, that is really what this model is replicating. The construction and materials used in the model are all FIRST RATE. The engine model is well worth the purchase price! Sincerely, Earl Higgins ...
