I modified mine to be able to keep up with an acre. (Two charge docks with 3 total zones, extra large battery, upgraded from 18 gauge to 14 gauge wire, painted the black parts white to help with the Texas sun, added traction.) With both breaks, Landroid support was very helpful and got me the parts I needed at a reasonable price.

However, do note that it does take a good bit to set up the boundary wire and every so often the mower cuts the wire itself. Definitely consider the more expensive options. But, if you are trying to stay under $1k, this definitely is the best option. Just the price-point comes with significant compromises. I would buy it again.
