I then changed to an athletic pair of ankle socks, which made for a great fit. I did some jump rope on hard wood and the leg burn is intense. These shoes have plenty of traction on hard surfaces and feel great on padded mats. Round kicks felt great. Hook kicks on a heavy bag flex the shoe in a good way. Front thrust with the ball of the foot is fine.

For the shoe proper, I would rate a 5, but due to size issue, I gave it a 3

Removing the insoles allows for a bit more space, but still snug nonetheless. I have narrow and flat feet. So if you've got chunkier feet, maybe go a full size above. For example, a 43 if you're got feet like mine but want a more relaxed feel.
