People like me, with a Cat that weighs about 13 lbs should get the LARGE size. The medium size I bought appears a bit too 'snug', and so far Smokey has not gone into it. I will give it time. He would fit if he went in, albeit 'snugly'. Chances are that's what's making him take his time. Still recommend the Large for Cats larger than say 10lbs.

The shelves: they don’t fit in my windows over a little ledge. The lower bracket is too short to hit the wall. I had to put a piece of board behind it to make it fit. The design is great and is easily put together .
