The Doctor Blake Mysteries are among the most entertaining programs I have ever seen. The characters are super, believable in all respects -- with a mixture of serious, humorous and realistic. The settings, props and atmosphere really work, too. Storylines are interesting, timely to the period while at the same time relevant today. The storyline content is superb - thay portion which I could enjoy: disc 1 played beautifully; however disc 2 played a bit, then stopped cold. Very disappointing. Would upload photos, but my phone cannot.

Dr. Blake is a series that goes past the seeming obvious cause of death for the victims. Dr. Blake launches his own investigation at his own peril to identify the real cause of death. These investigations uncover plots with numerous twists and turns. The medical investigations are not graphic. Recommend the series as a study in human nature, and 'murder'. Like all mysteries, would not recommend for young viewers. Dr. Blake is a series that goes past the seeming obvious cause of death for the victims.
